Greetings TSES Families,
We are working towards our attendance goal of 95%. Our current year to date attendance percentage is 94.2%. We have 17 days, including half days, left in this school year. Let’s finish out the year by meeting our attendance goal!
A huge THANK YOU to all that supported our Popcorn Fundraiser! Collectively we sold $1,468.00 worth of popcorn and $738 will go toward our budget for our Black History Month Celebration next school year. Additionally, we'd like to give a very special shout out to one of our amazing 5th grade students, Dylan M, who went above and beyond by selling an incredible $664 worth of popcorn during our fundraiser!!
We are so happy to congratulate our students! Each week one student in each of our 2nd through 5th grade music classes is selected as the "Super Singer." Students selected demonstrate consistent excellence in the school RISE expectations and/or the music skills that are being taught (singing, playing instruments, creating, and moving are some of the skills). TSES 2025-2026 Input Survey - 3rd Grade is in the lead for winning extra recess with popsicles!
As you may know, Talbott Springs Elementary is a Schoolwide Title I School. Family engagement is an important part of Title I. Talbott Springs Elementary and Howard County Public Schools (HCPSS) value your input and partnership in supporting the academic success of your child. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey regarding school improvement, climate, and family engagement. This will be used to evaluate our Title I program so that we can better serve you. HCPSS Pre-K Program
The HCPSS Pre-K Program is now accepting applications for the 2026-27 school year! The Pre-K Program is offered at no cost to families who qualify and is made available to eligible children in all attendance areas. Children must be four years old on or before September 1, 2026, to be considered for fall 2026 enrollment and must also meet the eligibility criteria. Please visit the HCPSS Pre-K Program website for information about the program, eligibility criteria, and how to apply. If you have additional questions about the program, please contact the Office of Early Childhood Programs at 410-313-6836.
TSES PreSchool
Will your child be 3 years old by September 1, 2026? If so, we'd love to have your child as part of our LTP program.
The PreSchool classes are 4 days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:35-11:15AM.

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION
Registration for new students or students entering public school kindergarten in fall 2026 begins TODAY March 2, 2026.
- Kindergarten is mandatory in Maryland. State law requires that children entering kindergarten in the fall of 2026 must be 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2026.
- Children entering first grade in the fall of 2026 must be 6 years old on or before September 1, 2026.
