Newsletter - 1/30/26

Greetings TSES Families,

Mr. Hall and the custodial staff have been working hard this week to make sure the snow is cleared to welcome our students and staff back to school.  We are ready for our students to return! Thank you to Mr. Hall, Ms. Kimmy, Mr. Normin, and Mr. Delaine for their hard work and effort!

Please note that the blacktop will be closed until further notice. If your child is a walker, they will gather on the sidewalk near the blacktop and then enter the building . There will be TSES staff outside to support arrival and dismissal.

We have several celebrations to share about our wonderful students!

On Friday, January 23, 19 students from grades 4 and 5 competed in the school spelling bee competition from Talbott Springs.  All spellers did a wonderful job. Congratulations to our 2026 winner, Dimitri P. in grade 5, and our runner up, Maeve C. in grade 5!  The school champion will advance to the HCLS Spelling Bee on March 14, 2026 at Hammond High School. The winner of this bee advances to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in late May 2024. Congratulations to all students who participated!

Congratulations to John A, Leah R, and Steven TP in 5th grade whose artwork was selected to be showcased at a countywide art show at the Columbia Art Center.

We are so happy to congratulate our TSES Super Singers! Each week one student in each of our 3rd through 5th grade music classes is selected as the "Super Singer." Celebrating Mrs. Sansone!

National School Counseling Week (NSCW) is approaching! From February 2–6, 2026, we will join districts across the country to celebrate the vital impact our school counselors have on student achievement and well-being. This year’s theme is "School Counselors Amplify Student Success”. Mrs. Sansone and Ms. Geiger, School Counseling Intern, are the "amplifiers" in our buildings—turning student dreams into reality and providing the support needed for every child to thrive. Between February 2-6, please take a moment to thank Mrs. Sansone - lauren_sansone@hcpss.org
