Greetings TSES Families,
We were excited to re-introduce outdoor recess (blacktop only) this week. The students and staff were excited, and we are crossing our fingers for warmer weather! We are looking forward to a full week of school next week, and we will be rounding out our week with our Black History Month Celebration and Black History Month Guest Reader Day. Please see below for details, join us for our celebration, and consider signing up to read to your child’s class!

The TSES Sunshine Committee would love your help in showering our amazing staff with monthly treats! Please consider donating individually wrapped snacks and/or drinks. Donations can be dropped off at the front office so we can keep our “Giving Thanks” cart fully stocked. Prefer not to shop? Monetary donations are also welcome. Please send checks or money orders (payable to Talbott Springs Elementary School) in a sealed envelope marked Attention: Sunshine Committee. We truly appreciate your continued support!

Black History Month Celebration
Mark your calendars! We are gearing up and planning an exciting evening to celebrate Black History Month on Thursday, February 26th at 6:00 pm. Come out and enjoy yummy food, great performances, and meaningful moments as we come together to celebrate history, culture, and community. Check out the flier for details!
Black History Month Guest Reader Day
Talbott Springs is hosting a Black History Month Guest Reader day on Friday, February 27th. We invite adult family and community members to read a book, one that highlights an author, illustrator, person, or character of color, to a class of students. If you have a book you would like to read, please bring it. We will also have a collection of books available to you to choose from. If you are interested in volunteering as a Guest Reader, please review the available time slots and sign up. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Christina Mizia at Christina_Mizia@hcpss.org. Thank you for your support as we celebrate Black History Month and promote literacy!
Reading Night
Please join us for Talbott Spring’s Cozy Cafe Reading Night on March 18, 2026 from 6:15-8:00pm. There will be an Author Visit, Book Fair, Read Alouds, Snacks, Crafts and more. Please see Flier and RSVP.
Understanding Speech & Language Development in the Early Years
This session is for parents of students in elementary school and covers typical language development, when to be concerned, how to help and how speech-language impairment is identified in the school system. Check out the flier for details!
