Happy New Year, TSES families! We had a great first week of 2026, and we are looking forward to the rest of our school year.
For the rest of the month of January, all students will be engaging in our Whittle unit. Please remind your child(ren) to wear sneakers and non-baggy clothing to PE class each day. They will be climbing, exploring, and moving their bodies in different ways throughout this course. If you have any further questions, please email your child(ren)s PE teacher.

Maryland Science Center Family Science Night
Join us for the Maryland Science Center Family Science Night: A fun, hands-on evening of STEM learning for the whole family! Try exciting activities like Insect Investigator, Kool-Aid Chemistry, Mineral Matching, and Mystery Boxes to spark curiosity and explore science together.

Road to Kindergarten Workshops
Monday, Jan. 12 and Tuesday, Jan. 20, 6:30-7:30 p.m., in-person
Wednesday, Jan. 28, 6:30-7:30 p.m., virtual
If you have a child who will be 5 years old by September 1, 2026, please save the date for an upcoming Road to Kindergarten parent information session. All sessions will run 6:30-7:30 p.m. and cover the same content, including details about the HCPSS kindergarten program and registration process. Registration is not required.
2026 Family Academy Conference
Wednesday, March 4, 6:00–8:30 p.m., Long Reach High School
HCPSS families are invited to an evening of learning, connection, and access to resources that support student success. Families can look forward to a light dinner; community resource fair; and interactive workshops focused on academic achievement, well-being, and family engagement. Additional details and registration information are forthcoming.
