Newsletter - 10/30/26
Greetings TSES Families,
We have had an AWESOME week at TSES! We ended the week with Career Day, and we had a blast! Thank you to the TSES Reading Team for planning such a wonderful day for our students and staff. Families, thank you for participating in Career Day and sharing your careers with us. It was so much fun to see our students engaging with our parents and learning about so many different careers!
Thank you to our PTA for organizing another fabulous Trunk or Treat! It was a fun filled event with so many families in attendance on Tuesday night. I am so proud of how the TSES community shows up for our students!
Speaking of showing up... our current year to date attendance rate is 95.5%! Let's go Eagles!! We have some surprise attendance fun and events coming up, so let's make sure our Eagles come to school on time and prepared for learning.
Our next big event is American Education Week 2026 , and we are excited to invite our families in for our special events. Please see below for the details.
The Howard County Public School System celebrates American Education Week from Monday, Nov. 16 through Fri., Nov. 20. TSES invites parents and guardians to visit their child’s classroom during the week to experience the school learning environment firsthand. Please review the below flier(s) in English and Spanish for your child’s grade level invitation. We are looking forward to having our families join us!
During your visit, teachers will be actively teaching, and students will be fully engaged in their learning, which may limit opportunities for personal interactions with your child or their teacher.
All visitors are asked to follow these instructions during their visit:
- Visit between the hours of 9:00-2:45 so that we are able to keep the front parking lot open for buses during arrival and dismissal.
- Go directly to the front office to sign in upon your arrival. Bring your ID as you will need it to sign in.
- Wear your visitor sticker at all times.
- No photos or videos please.
- Silence your phone.
- Be mindful of student confidentiality.
As of the 2026-2027 school year, parent lunch visits are no longer permitted at HCPSS schools due to safety concerns. Given the number of parents who visit our school during American Education Week, we can only accommodate classroom visits—we cannot make exceptions to allow for visits during lunch. In addition, parents are not permitted to attend recess. Please plan your visit accordingly based on your child’s class schedule.
Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to welcoming you during your child’s class time for American Education Week.
