Newsletter 9/22

HCPSS

Talbott Springs Elementary School

September 22, 2025

Greetings TSES Families,

Our attendance rate is holding strong at 96%. Our Eagles are off to a great start!  Let’s keep it up! This is a reminder: HCPSS schools and offices are closed tomorrow in observance of Rosh Hashanah.

We are encouraging all families to complete the Free and Reduced Meals application. You must reapply every year.  It is highly encouraged to complete this form as it provides additional benefits to you and TSES such as grants, program funding, athletic waivers, and textbooks assistance, among others. All families please complete!

Effective 9/24, I will be on medical leave for 4-6 weeks.  During this time, Rhonda Inskeep, Retired HCPSS Principal, will be my substitute. Mrs. Inskeep had the opportunity to take a tour of TSES today and meet some students and staff. She was so impressed with our students and staff!  Mrs. Inskeep’s first day at TSES will be Wednesday, 9/24. Please know that Mrs. Inskeep and Dr. Lewis will be working closely together in my absence. I am looking forward to returning around the end of October and hearing about all the successes while I am on leave!

School Wide Title I Program

Talbott Springs Elementary is a Title I School wide Program school. Title I is a federally funded program designed to close achievement gaps and ensure all children have an opportunity to access a high-quality education by providing funding for supplemental academic services and supports. A Family-School Compact & Plan is an agreement between families, students, and teachers that is jointly developed and distributed to all families. It explains how families, students, and teachers will work as a team to make sure all students meet with success and get the support they need to achieve grade level goals.

The Talbott Springs Family School Compact and Plan & Calendar of Events for 2025-2026 will be coming soon! We collaborated with many families at our Title I Annual Night to get feedback and input on this year's Compact and Plan.
