Greetings TSES Families,
We had another fabulous week at TSES! We had the pleasure of celebrating Dr. Lewis for National Assistant Principals Week. “The Bird” stopped by to surprise Dr. Lewis and joined in with us as we practiced cheering about our RISE behaviors altogether. It was so much fun for students and staff!
The last day of the school year has been confirmed as June 14, 2024. We are committed to finishing strong in our instruction, learning, and making every day count!

Solar Eclipse Reminder
On Monday, April 8, 2024, a partial solar eclipse will be visible in Howard County, Maryland. This partial eclipse will begin at 2:05 pm, with maximum coverage at 3:21 pm, and end around 4:35 pm.
School dismissals will occur during the solar eclipse, with Tier 2 elementary and middle schools dismissing during the height of the eclipse. Some students will already be home by that time.
Safety during a solar eclipse is important. Please review this information with your child(ren) to ensure safety at home:

Never look directly at the Sun, especially during a solar eclipse.

It is dangerous to look directly at the Sun and can cause permanent damage to the eyes.

Do not look at the Sun through sunglasses, telescope, or binoculars.
We encourage you and your family to read more about solar eclipses and safety and enjoy experiencing this rare, exciting phenomenon.
If you plan on picking up your child early from school or changing their method of transportation for afternoon dismissal on 4/8, please notify the front office no later than 2:30pm on Monday, April 8. Please reach out to our front office at 410-313-6915 to notify us of changes. Thank you for your support!
TSES Spring Work Day
TSES Spring Work Day will be held on Saturday, April 20th, 9 am to 12 noon. Join us if you can! Students must be accompanied by an adult.
Please complete this brief form to let us know if you are able to join us. We will be adding a pollinator garden, planting some early spring vegetables, weeding the gardens in front of the school, and picking up trash.
Here are some items to bring that day:

garden gloves (we have some child-sized gloves to use)

water bottle

garden tools *labeled with your name - shovel, trowel, metal rake - we have some of these tools, but a few extra might be helpful

wheelbarrow (let Mrs. Bailey know if you can bring one, we will need several)
