Greetings TSES Families,
We had an awesome afternoon today by having a schoolwide PBIS celebration for the last 30 minutes of the day. We played a schoolwide Kahoot, and the students and staff loved it! What a fun way to end the week!
We are looking forward to seeing our families next week for American Education Week, especially on Friday, November 22 for our Trot for Talbott event. See below for details!
Please be sure to sign up for a fall conference by following the directions in the section below regarding conferences. The conference scheduling window closes next week on Thursday, November 21 @ 4pm. We are excited to share your child’s progress with you!
Our PTA sponsored Readathon is well underway! We have one more week left to log reading minutes. Please see below for how to activate your student’s Reader account.
Lastly, as the temperature continues to drop, we wanted to remind you that students will still be going outside for recess. Please make sure you send your child to school with warm clothes. All clothing needs to be labeled with your child's name to prevent it from being lost. Thank you for your help!

Pre-K Accreditation Visit
On December 13, validators from the Maryland State Department of Education will visit our Pre-K classrooms to conduct our final Accreditation Appraisal. During the visit, accreditors will observe and assess our classrooms, playground, and instruction for best practices using the Maryland Accreditation Standards.
Please contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions about the Accreditation process. Our Pre-K program at Talbott Springs Elementary School is committed to meeting high standards for quality early education. We look forward to our visit, and sharing the results with you soon!
Book Fair
The TSES Book Fair is here! Browsing will occur during Media Classes the week of November 18th . Parents may shop the fair the day of Trott For Talbott, November 22nd 9:00am-3:30pm or on the in-person conference day, Monday, November 25th 1:00-7:00 pm.
Students may shop at the fair during the school day on November 25th and 26th.
You may send your student with their wish list and cash/check to TSES or ewallet (use the link below) on November 25th or 26th.
You may also shop online.
News from the Yearbook Committee
It may be November but the yearbook committee is already hard at work on the 2024-2025 yearbook. We would love your help with filling our pages with photos of your child(ren) at TSES events. Please share photos from (1) field trips; and (2) school events with Mrs. Humphrey at yearbook@tsespta.org.
Parent-Teacher Conference Registration
The conference scheduling window is now open for all parents and/or guardians and closes on Thursday, November 21 @ 4pm. Fall conferences will be held this year on 11/25 (in person) and 11/26 (virtual). Directions for how to register for a conference can be found here. Preparing for Teacher Conferences - English, Chinese, Korean, and Spanish versions available. We can’t wait to celebrate our students’ success with you!
HCPSS will again use the "Synergy Conference Management" system to schedule Conferences. The conference scheduling window will close on Thursday, 11/21/24.
Please make note of the following conference schedule:
*Kindergarten conferences will focus on English Language Arts.
*1st-5th conferences will focus on Math.

Monday, 11/25/24: All conferences will be held in-person.

Tuesday, 11/26/24: All conferences will be held virtually via Google Meet.
Instructions for Registering for a Conference:

Log into https://www.hcpss.org/connect/

In the Navigation panel, select Conference, and then click the Parent Scheduled Conferences link.

Select an available conference block/time. Your conference will be saved automatically. Once you select a time option, all other time options for that class will become unavailable.

To select a different time option, clear the first checkbox and select a new option.

If you have more than one child, select the next child in the photo banner across the top.

Viewing Your Conference Schedule:

In the Navigation Panel, select Conference Scheduling > View My Conference Schedule.

Click the View My Conference Schedule link. A page will display listing all of the conferences for your child.
RELATED ARTS CONFERENCES: Our Related Arts team will also offer families several ways to check in with them during the conference window. This will include in-person and virtual drop-in office hours. Please check the available conference times for your child’s Related Arts teachers.
Our school Read-A-Thon begins on Friday November 8, 2024 and is sure to be a fun and exciting event.
We understand that your time is valuable. We also know that providing the best education for your child is important. That's why we are encouraging everyone to activate their student's Read-A-Thon account as soon as possible. The instructions are straightforward, making it quick and hassle-free, and it should take less than 5 minutes of your time.
This account will serve as a hub for recording and monitoring your child's progress as a Reader in the event, and for you to share their Read-A-Thon message with friends and family. Use the link below to activate your student's Reader account:
